Dynamic Design Solutions can provide a variety of thread pitch measurement stations that can be used to measure internal or external threads.
 

The thread pitch measurement application shown can inspect caps that were dropped onto a conveyor.  The equipment shown had adjustable rails on the conveyor to allow various caps to be run on this machine. The conveyor moves the cap under two (2) high resolution digital cameras.  Back lighting through the conveyor illuminates the inner diameter of the part.  One camera verifies the the inner diameter and the other inspects the thread pitch and then passes or fails the part based on the acceptance criteria programmed into the camera for that part.  Failed parts were then diverted off the conveyor to a reject bin.  Accepted parts continue off the end of the conveyor to subsequent conveyors and/or material handling equipment.  This equipment inspected parts exceeding 100 ppm.   This equipment was able to distiguish between different thread pitches and isolate mixed parts.
