Thread Pitch Inspection

Dynamic Design Solutions has created a thread pitch measurement station that can be used to measure internal or external threads.

The equipment inspected caps that were dropped onto a conveyor by existing equipment. Adjustable rails on the Dynamic Design Solutions, Inc. conveyor will allow different caps to be run on this machine. The conveyor will move the cap under two (2) high resolution digital cameras. Back lighting through the conveyor will illuminate the inner diameter of the part. One camera will verify the the inner diameter and the other will inspect the thread pitch and pass or fail the part based on acceptance criteria programmed on the camera for that part. Failed parts will be diverted off the conveyor to a reject bin. Accepted parts will continue off the end of the conveyor to subsequent conveyors and or material handling equipment. The equipment will meet or exceed the desired production rates and speeds of 120 parts per minute as described for the project.

The equipment was able to distiguish between different thread pitches, to verify the proper part was being assembled.
